During his visit to the Olympic village near Paris, President Emmanuel Macron assured reporters that discussions about deploying Western troops to Ukraine were approached with careful consideration and measured language.
Macron emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "These are serious matters. Every word I utter on this issue has been meticulously weighed, considered, and approved", SIA reports with reference to foreign media.
Furthermore, the head of state consciously refrained from making "geopolitical comments," urging for a separation of the Ukraine conflict from the opening of the Olympic village.
"Sport should serve as a unifying force and promote peace," he added.
