Youth should be an integral part of the interactions during COP29, according to Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister and COP29 Lead Negotiator, Yalchin Rafiyev.
Report informs that speaking at a climate action forum organized by the UN Youth Organization, Rafiyev emphasized the importance of youth involvement in advancing the COP29 agenda.
"Through events like these, we can promote our agenda, which also involves the active participation of young people," stated the minister.
Rafiyev stressed the significance of considering the opinions of youth in matters related to combating climate change.
"As the COP29 presidency, we have incorporated a youth component into all aspects of our work. During the negotiation process, we are collaborating with the UN Youth Organization and other organizations. We must listen to the youth and strive to represent their perspectives in the negotiations," Rafiyev said.
