Large-scale screening examinations of customs officers conducted at Khachmaz Customs Administration under the organization of the Medical Service of the State Customs Committee
On April 14–16, 2026, in accordance with the Development Strategy of the Medical Service of the State Customs Committee for 2026–2030, large-scale medical screening examinations were conducted at the Khachmaz Customs Administration under the organization of the Medical Service. The purpose of the initiative was to assess the health status of customs officers, identify risks arising from their professional activities, and strengthen preventive measures.
The medical campaign was attended by Deputy Head of the Medical Service of the State Customs Committee, Ismayil Efendiyev, Head Physician of the Central Customs Hospital, Bakhtiyar Musayev, Deputy Head Nahida Mahmudova, Head of the Polyclinic Department Tamilla Aliyeva, cardiologists Emin Hajibayev, Nargiz Alakbarova, Emin Allahverdiyev, Head of the Laboratory Department Sabina Ibrahimova and as well as nursing staff.
Head Physician Bakhtiyar Musayev noted that targeted measures aimed at preventing cardiovascular diseases were implemented within the framework of the examinations. In particular, questionnaires were used to preliminarily assess harmful habits, hereditary predisposition, comorbidities, and other risk factors; employees underwent electrocardiography (ECG), lipid profile testing, and cardiologist consultations.
He emphasized that, based on the results of the screenings, the overall health status of employees was comprehensively evaluated, key risk factors enabling early detection of cardiovascular diseases were identified, and individualized medical recommendations were prepared for each employee.
The lipid profile analysis- including total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and triglycerides-made it possible to determine cardiovascular risk at an early stage and take timely preventive measures. Based on the results, employees requiring further examination and, if necessary, treatment will be invited to the Central Customs Hospital. It is planned to cover all customs personnel with such medical examinations in the near future.
Deputy Head of the Medical Service Ismayil Efendiyev stated that the implemented measures aim to identify health issues characteristic of customs officers’ professional activities, develop ways to address them, and establish a unified, scientifically grounded methodology encompassing preventive approaches and health protection strategies.
Through the use of a mobile hospital equipped with modern medical equipment, the Medical Service ensures the continuous organization of such examinations in the regions. These medical initiatives make a significant contribution to regular health monitoring of customs officers working in remote areas, early detection of diseases, and effective implementation of preventive measures.
