Azerbaijan prevents smuggling of 95 kg of drugs from Iran

On November 20, at 5:16 p.m., two unknown persons violated the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the service territory of the border outpost of the "Horadiz" border detachment of the State Border Service, located near the village of Amirzeyidli, Beylagan district, the Press Center of the State Border Service told SİA.

Note that the border guards shouted "Stop!" a warning shot was fired into the air.

It was observed that the border violators were armed and one of them was carrying a load in a large parcel.

The border violators who disobeyed the order fired a firearm at the border guards, threw away their parcels and ran back to Iran, taking advantage of the unfavorable weather conditions and the difficult terrain.

As a result of the conducted border search, a total weight of 95 kilograms and 100 grams of drugs (10 kg and 100 grams of methamphetamine, 85 kg of opium) were found and seized.

Operational-investigative measures are being continued.
