Azerbaijan has commenced exporting table eggs to the United States for the first time, according to the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA), SİA informs.
In November 2023, an agreement was reached between the AFSA and Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision) to export poultry products, primarily eggs, from Azerbaijan to Russia. Since then, the export of eggs has been ongoing.
Additionally, following discussions between the AFSA and China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as subsequent measures, Azerbaijan secured permission to export poultry products to China.
Most recently, Azerbaijan has begun exporting table eggs to the United States for the first time, with the relevant procedures already underway.
The country’s compliance with progressive international practices in recent years has facilitated the recognition of its health standards for diseases threatening human and animal health. This, coupled with improved biological safety measures, has enabled a significant expansion in the export of poultry products.
The rise in exports reflects the development of Azerbaijan’s food safety control systems and the alignment of its industrial poultry farming with international standards. The AFSA remains committed to supporting local businesses in accessing foreign markets and enhancing their export potential.
