Russian MP Proposes Ban on "Non-Traditional Sexual Orientation" Representatives in State Institutions

Aleksandr Xinshetyn, a deputy of the State Duma from the Unified Russia party, has proposed banning representatives of "non-traditional sexual orientation" from working in state institutions and educational establishments.

According to the lawmaker, it is necessary to conduct checks on officials' sexual orientation in order to "preserve traditional values."

Xinshetyn said in an interview with the "Samara Review" newspaper, SIA reports.

In the deputy's opinion, individuals holding state positions should adhere to the policies implemented by the state.

This includes those involved in the education and upbringing of young people, Xinshetyn added.

Furthermore, he emphasized his opposition to teachers representing "non-traditional sexual values."

The deputy believes that there are currently "efforts by the gay lobby to infiltrate the educational environment to influence children."

In March, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld a decision to include the International LGBT Movement in the list of extremist organizations by "Rosfinmonitoring", banning the movement in Russia.
