Izhevsk Court fines surgeon and mother of five, for 'discrediting' the army
The Izhevsk court has fined surgeon and mother of five, Olga Avdeyeva, 120,000 rubles under the charge of "discrediting" the army.
This was disclosed by Udmurtia Against Corruption, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.
It is noted that Avdeyeva did not confess to her guilt and considered her trial as a criminal offense.
"If you call black white, it will lead people to break ties with reality. This is fraught with disaster, mass deaths, and chaos in the country. We are heading towards this now," Avdeyeva said during the court session.
In the summer of 2022, the doctor wrote the word "fascists" under the image of St. George on the wall of the local Opera and Ballet Theater. The inscription was quickly painted over. Interestingly, Avdeyeva, who attempted to restore the inscription, was detained this time.
"In June 2023, the woman from Izhevsk again appeared at the same site with the letter Z wearing a Ukrainian wreath and a poster saying 'Russia creates EVIL'," the report reads.
The woman was fined 30,000 rubles under the charge of "discrediting" the army this time, and a criminal case was opened against her, including the episode related to the previous inscription from a year ago.
