World Bank allocates $1.5 billion to Ukraine for implementation of development policy

The World Bank (WB) has allocated $1.5 billion to Ukraine to implement the Development Policy Loan (DPL) for growth.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal made the announcement via social media, SIA reports.

Shmyhal revealed that $994 million originates from Japan, with the remaining $516 million being provided by the United Kingdom.

Expressing gratitude for the support, Shmyhal acknowledged the contributions of Ukraine's allies.

Additionally, Member of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's Parliament) Yaroslav Yeleznyak noted on the Telegram channel that the next financial package from the World Bank is anticipated in October 2024.

Furthermore, on March 21, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a new assistance package of $880 million to Ukraine, earmarked for the country's state budget. The IMF underscored significant achievements across all sectors of Kyiv's economic performance.
