Ukraine and Germany sign Security Agreement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have signed a security agreement, according to information obtained by SIA from the Associated Press.

The head of the German government referred to this document as a "historic step."

It's noteworthy that Zelensky is currently on an official visit to Germany, where he is meeting with Scholz and members of the ruling coalition. In addition, the Ukrainian president is set to participate in the Munich Security Conference, where he intends to discuss military assurances for Kyiv.

According to the statements of the Ukrainian leader, the main purpose of the visit is to expedite peace in Europe.

Meanwhile, Zelensky mentioned his intention to visit France after Germany.

Earlier, during the visit of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, both leaders signed a security agreement. The document will remain in effect until Ukraine's expected accession to NATO.
