The intense mediation efforts of Pakistan and Qatar have led to significant progress toward ending the war in Lebanon, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a post on X regarding the outcomes of the first phase of negotiations with the United States in Switzerland, SİA informs.
"Tireless Pakistani and Qatari mediation has delivered major progress to end Lebanon War. Oil and petrochem exports are waived, blockade lifted, some frozen assets released, and major reconstruction and development plan launched for Iran," reads the post.
Earlier, the foreign ministries of Qatar and Pakistan issued a joint statement on the Lake Lucerne Summit in Switzerland, announcing that a roadmap had been agreed upon to reach a final agreement in US–Iran negotiations within 60 days.
The parties met in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock. However, the Iranian delegation left shortly afterward in protest against US President Donald Trump's threats to strike Iran. Later, the Al Hadath TV reported that discussions between the parties continued through mediators.
Meanwhile, Axios reported that all sides were satisfied with the progress of the negotiations.
