The ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court has resumed with the review of case documents, SİA informs.
The court, presided over by Judge Zeynal Aghayev, is examining the materials episode by episode.
One of the documents reviewed concerned the February 22, 1988, shooting of a GAZ-21 car belonging to Azerbaijani citizens. At the time of the attack, the vehicle carried L.F. Mammadov, A.M. Abdullayev, A.M. Khudiyev, Sh.B. Salmanova, and her child.
Other documents detailed the acquisition and possession of firearms and explosives by Armen Grigoryevich Sargsyan and Artur Ashotovich Saiyan, respectively. The records also included evidence of mass unrest in the cities of Shusha and Khankandi.
One of the victims, Zenfira Abbasova, testified that she lived in Khankandi with her two sons. She recounted that starting in 1988, Armenians regularly threatened them, shouting slogans such as "No to Azerbaijan, long live the Armenian nation," and warned they would burn down their home if they did not leave. She stated that her neighbor, Slavik Ayrapetyan, repeatedly threatened and insulted her, demanding that she vacate the property. On September 18, 1988, the house she lived in was destroyed.
Additional documents presented at the hearing related to riots that occurred in Shusha, Khankandi, and Khojaly on September 18–19, 1988. These included reports of the arson and looting of homes occupied by Azerbaijani residents, injuries to residents of the Sharur and Sadarak districts, the murder of Alekper Pasha Gurbanov, and the forced eviction of Khankandi resident Ofeliya Asadova.
