Panels in support of African peoples held at IV Diplomacy Forum in Antalya

The 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) hosted panel discussions on the topics of "Confronting Discrimination and Racism in the 21st Century" and "Unifying Africa: A Continental Integration Perspective," according to the latest Baku TV coverage from the event, Report informs.

During the first panel, it was emphasized that the problems of racism and discrimination are manifested in new forms in the modern era. Global migration, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, Afrophobia and other manifestations of hatred were discussed. Participants noted that such problems cause serious damage not only to individuals, but also to the unity of societies and interstate relations.

The panel was attended by diplomats from different countries, UN representatives, human rights activists and academics. They discussed the role that modern technologies and social media can play both in the spread of hate speech and in the fight against such phenomena. Particular attention was paid to education, legal regulation and ways of multilateral cooperation.

Another panel aimed to find an answer to the question of how Africa can define its place in the period of restructuring of the current global order. During the discussions, attention was focused on the active and equal integration of African countries into the new world order.

Zandile Ndhlovu, a representative of the Zimbabwean delegation, told the TV channel that the forum is "ambitious and covers a lot of issues": "I am very pleased that the forum is ambitious and covers a lot of issues, seeks solutions to these issues and takes important steps. Africa is a big country, each country has its own problems. The solution to these problems will be a success not only for Africa, but for the whole world," she said.

The delegate also emphasized the importance of simplifying the visa regime as part of the integration process.
