"Permian cannibal" serving 23 years, released from prison

Mikhail Malyshev, known as the "Perm Cannibal" in Russia's Perm region, has been released from the colony where he spent more than 20 years.

He was released from the colony on October 28, SIA reports, referring to Russian media.

Malyshev served his sentence in a colony in Perm region. He was detained in 2000 for two accounts of crime.

He had killed a man and a woman, dismembered them and partially ate them. The criminal threw the remains of the first victim near the house on Marshal Rybalko Street.

Investigators found the dismembered body of the second deceased in the river. It was also clarified that Malyshev, who used soft napkins to fry the cutlets, threw away the remaining parts.

The "Permian cannibal" who was sentenced to 25 years in prison, also received compulsory psychiatric treatment.
