This fall, Azerbaijan’s capital will transform into a global stage for contemporary dance, theater, and timeless classics as the first-ever Baku International Arts Festival (BIAF) takes place from October 31 to November 16, 2025, SİA reports.
Over three weekends, guests can attend more than ten unique events featuring over 100 artists from Azerbaijan, Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Spain, Canada, China, the United States, France, and Uzbekistan.
Renowned directors, choreographers, and theater troupes will perform on Baku’s most prestigious stages, including Robert Lepage, Sharon Eyal, Yan Lipin, Guillaume Cote, Rimas Tuminas, the Gesher Theater, and Daniele Finzi Pasca.
Inspired by the world’s most celebrated art festivals, BIAF is envisioned as an annual cultural project aimed at establishing Baku as a center for artistic dialogue, creativity, and international collaboration.
The festival’s main venues include the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall named after Muslim Magomayev, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, and the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Baku, the cultural capital of the Caspian, has long been a crossroads of East and West, once a key hub on the Silk Road. BIAF-2025 seeks to continue this legacy, bringing global art together with Azerbaijani culture.
More than a series of concerts and performances, the festival offers an immersive journey, providing art lovers and newcomers to culture with unforgettable experiences. Tickets and program details are available on the official BIAF website: www.biaf.az
