Authorities in Egypt have reported that a 3,000-year-old gold bracelet has gone missing from a restoration workshop at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, SİA reports, citing foreign media.
The bracelet, featuring spherical lapis lazuli beads, once belonged to King Amenemope, a pharaoh of Egypt’s 21st Dynasty (1070–945 BC).
The Ministry of Antiquities did not provide details on when the artifact was last accounted for. Local media reported that the loss was discovered during a recent inventory, though this has not been officially confirmed.
An internal investigation has been launched, and antiquities officials across Egyptian airports, seaports, and land borders have been put on alert, the ministry added.
