“The news on a bus crash in western Bulgaria, as a result of which dozens of people, mostly tourists from North Macedonia have died, deeply saddened us. Our heartfelt condolences go to the families of the victims of the tragic accident and the People and Government of North Macedonia,” the ministry tweeted.

At least 46 people, including 12 children, were killed on November 23 in a road accident in Bulgaria that burned down a bus.

The accident occurred at about 03:00 (GMT+2) on the 31st kilometer of the Sofia - Blagoevgrad highway. The bus, which was carrying 52 people, crossed the Bulgarian border the night before at the Kapitan Andreevo crossing. The bus had a North Macedonian number plate.
