UK to allocate $22.5 mln to Ukraine for Chernobyl NPP repairs

The United Kingdom will allocate 17 million GBP ($22.5 million) in new support for repairs to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the UK Cabinet said in a press release.

"The support will fund crucial repairs to restore the structure’s confinement and ventilation functions and protect its intended lifespan," it said. "Without repairs, corrosion risks undermining decades of international investment and creating longer-term environmental and safety risks."
