Türkiye and Pakistan will deploy military personnel to Saudi Arabia as the three countries move to implement collective defense commitments under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.
According to SİA, citing TRT Haber and Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision was announced following a meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee.
The committee agreed to immediately begin implementing collective defense commitments and take steps to rapidly deploy agreed military forces and capabilities to Saudi Arabia in accordance with the national legislation of the participating countries.
The move is aimed at strengthening military readiness, integration and collective capabilities in responding to threats.
The three countries reaffirmed that the security of each party was an integral part of their collective security and stressed their commitment to acting together in addressing threats facing Saudi Arabia.
They also strongly condemned attempts to target Makkah and Madinah, as well as attacks on cities and civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia, and reaffirmed their rejection of any attack or threat against the kingdom's security and territorial integrity.
The statement also highlighted the professionalism demonstrated by Saudi armed forces in protecting the country's security and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmud was appointed Secretary General of the Makkah Defense Alliance.
