More than 40 flights to Istanbul have been diverted to other airports

Over 40 aircraft flying to Istanbul International Airport were diverted to other hubs due to inclement weather, according to the Turkish Transport Ministry, SİA reports citing NTV.

According to the ministry, 16 flights were diverted to Ankara Airport, 10 to Izmir, and eight to Sabiha Gokcen Airport on the Asian side of Istanbul, where low-cost airlines are mainly based.
