NATO steps up Baltic Sea presence following drone sightings in Denmark

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is bolstering its footprint in the Baltic Sea following a series of drone incidents in Denmark that briefly grounded flights at Northern Europe’s busiest airport, SİA reports.

The move underscores growing security concerns in a region already on edge over airspace violations and hybrid threats.

The alliance is sending a frigate armed with air defense systems, along with expanded reconnaissance, surveillance, and patrol capabilities. The deployment comes days after several large drones were detected over Copenhagen, an incident that forced authorities to shut down the city’s largest airport for hours.
