Head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, has voiced criticism of the United Nations (UN), arguing that the body has lost much of its multilateral capacity, SİA reports.
“There is a general perception that the UN has, at the very least, lost its multilateral capabilities,” Pope Leo said, emphasizing that dialogue remains the only way to build bridges.

Highlighting the growing polarization in global politics, the Pope noted: “We live in an era where polarization has become one of the slogans of the day. But this helps no one, or if it does, it helps very few, while everyone else suffers.”
The pontiff also addressed the war in Ukraine. “People must somehow wake up and say: There is another way to resolve this; let us end this conflict. I believe that various actors should exert enough pressure so that the parties to the conflict finally say, ‘Enough, let us find another way to resolve our differences,’” Pope Leo stressed
