Turkish President condemns attacks on Gaza as "Shattered Remnants of an Illegitimate International System"

During his speech at the 24th Summit Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye criticized Israel's attacks on Gaza, calling them "acts where more than 40,000 innocent Palestinians have lost their lives and nearly 90,000 have been injured."

Erdogan emphasized that the deaths of over 16,000 innocent children in Gaza are "shattered remnants of an international system that has lost its legitimacy."

He urged for immediate action to halt these devastations, demanding Israel to cease its actions and enforce a permanent ceasefire, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.

"Despite all obstacles, Turkiye is committed to establishing a comprehensive and effective international system that eliminates global economic disparities, and fosters peace, security, stability, and prosperity," Erdogan stated. "Our goal is to create a generation of peace beyond our region and its borders, guided by a diplomacy that prioritizes human and humanitarian values."

Erdogan also affirmed Turkiye's ongoing collaboration with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in various fields, emphasizing their shared goals of regional stability and cooperation.
