AMADA, the Interior Ministry and the State Customs Committee had identified joint steps

Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the State Customs Committee (SCC) held a working meeting on combating the illicit trafficking of doping drugs. According to the press service of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Azerbaijan, AMADA, the National Coordinating Center under the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport, to which Azerbaijan is a party of, shared with law enforcement agencies the information obtained on drug trafficking. Thus, the research conducted by AMADA, the anonymous and open data received and the analysis of this information show that the problem of doping trafficking is becoming more urgent. Taking all this into account, AMADA held a presentation for law enforcement officers, which included information on the illicit trafficking of doping drugs, especially steroids, as well as the organization of illegal sales on social networks and gyms, and other information.

AMADA, one of the executive bodies of the State Program on Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors for 2019-2024, shared with law enforcement agencies the information obtained and the results of its research on drug use in sports.

The meeting focused on the issues discussed and exchanged views. They stressed the importance of expanding existing cooperation in this direction and further strengthening combat measures. AMADA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Customs Committee, taking into account the urgency of the problem, have identified joint steps to be taken to prevent doping.
