Swedish Foreign Minister: Negotiations with Turkiye on NATO membership process have become difficult

Negotiations with Turkiye on the NATO membership process became difficult after Left Party MPs raised the flag of the banned PKK in Turkiye, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde said, SİA informs, citing Aftonbladet.

"NATO talks with Turkiye have become even more difficult after the Left Party deputies raised the PKK flag. The Turkish media constantly covers this and similar events. Under Swedish law, we say that this is freedom of speech. But we think it is a very inappropriate situation for the government," Linde said.

She added that the last meeting of the delegations on August 26 was supposed to be held in Sweden, but was moved to Finland for a number of reasons.
