Co-chair states of Minsk Group should be ashamed in front on international community, says Assistant to Azerbaijani President

"Attempts made by some to resuscitate the OSCE Minsk Group are hypocritical and shameful steps," said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev while announcing his attitude on US's appointing a new co-chair to the Minsk Group in Shusha, SİA reports.

Hikmet Hajiyev said that the states, carrying out the mission of co-chairing the Minsk Group should be somewhat ashamed in front of the international community: "Because based on the UN Charter and Security Council decisions, those states were given the mandate of the international community to eliminate this injustice, to put an end to the occupation and aggression.

Not a single inch of Azerbaijani land was liberated from the occupation, not a single Azerbaijani citizen returned to his land. Appointing someone as co-chair of the Minsk Group after 30 years of unsuccessful activity is only a shameful step. There is no boastful step to speak of. There is no longer such an institution for us. The Minsk Group is an institution that committed a self-suicide, the Minsk Group is already a part of history."
