Goal is to save 2015 Iran nuclear deal - Borrell

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell (pictured) said on Tuesday that most countries that are negotiating with Iran on a nuclear deal agree that the goal is to save the original 2015 deal, SİA reports citing Teletrader.

Borrel also deemed Tehran's response to a few EU-made adjustments to the deal "reasonable."

"Most of them agree, but I still don't have the answer from the United States, who I understand have to discuss it, and we expect during this week to receive an answer," Borrel commented.

Yesterday, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price stated that the nuclear deal with Iran is "closer than it was two weeks ago." Israel, on the other hand, has expressed strong opposition to the new deal, saying it is prepared to carry out an armed attack on Iran "if need be."
