Cavusoglu rules out possibility of telephone conversation between Erdogan and Assad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye has denied allegations that a telephone conversation between the country's leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was prepared, SİA informs, citing the Turkish press.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoğlu ruled out the possible telephone conversation saying, "direct contacts with Syria are out of the question at the moment".

Cavusoglu noted that negotiations started only through special services.

Earlier, the Turkish press reported that the two heads of state could have a telephone conversation.
