The fifth visit of 130 diaspora representatives from 27 countries to Shusha has ended with the support and organization of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
The next visit carried out within the framework of the project "We are in Shusha with the power of an iron fist" coincided with the period after the recommendations of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the members of the diaspora at the 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis, SIA cites AZERTAC.
In the recommendations of our head of state, the importance of the active participation of our diaspora in the revival and development of the native Karabakh freed from occupation was once again brought to attention. It was emphasized that the visits to Karabakh serve the noble mission of promoting the truths of Azerbaijan to the world, and will have a serious impact on attracting the attention of the world community to the region and foreign investment.
Our compatriots waving Azerbaijani flags in their hands showed their joy by singing folk and composer songs dedicated to Karabakh. As part of the visit, diaspora representatives visited Shusha's main square "Bazarbashı", Cıdır plain, the square with the "Bulleted statues" subjected to Armenian vandalism, the place where the Shusha Declaration was signed, Khurshidbanu Nateva's house, "Khan Gizi spring", Nightingale's house-museum, Ganja Gate, Saatli, the Lower and Upper Govhar Agha mosques and other sights and got acquainted with the reconstruction and improvement works carried out in our ancient city in the post-war period.
At the end of the visit, according to tradition, representatives of the diaspora waved the flag of Azerbaijan on the Cidir plain and thanked the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the Azerbaijani Army..
Chairman of the Antalya-Azerbaijan Culture and Solidarity Association, Jeyran Sattarova, said that she saw Shusha for the first time: "I have never been to Shusha. We are very excited. It is a feeling that cannot be described in words. It is a matter of pride, because after almost 30 years, our lands have returned to their rightful owners. We owe our lifetime to our martyrs and veterans because they saved us from this saddening situation. We, as members of the diaspora, will continue to do everything we can to convey the fair position of Azerbaijan to the world and promote our homeland."
Abdulla Amir Hashimi, the founder of Azerbaijan Karabakh Society in Sweden, evaluated his visit to Javanshir Shusha as the peak moment of his life. "After 207 years, such a commander was found in Azerbaijan who brought our country to an unparalleled victory. Already politically, diplomatically, and economically very strong, and whose word is accepted worldwide, Azerbaijan stands in line with the developing countries of the world. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev and all those who contributed to the achievement of this victory."
In 2021, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora organized the visits of diaspora representatives to the city of Shusha four times (on July 27, August 17, October 9 and December 2). The visits carried out under the slogan "We are in Shusha with the power of an iron fist" are one of the most important events in the history of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
