A joint action plan on public-private partnership in the development of Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem has been discussed at a meeting of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development under the Ministry and the Technovate Sabah Angels Club, SİA informs.
The event was attended by representatives of the local startup community, innovation ecosystem, founders and investors of the Technovate Sabah club.
At the meeting, a wide exchange of views took place on the state of the innovation and startup ecosystem, modern challenges, problems and new opportunities.
As part of the partnership between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, discussions were held with the Technovate Sabah Angels Club on financing investor education programs, international exchange meetings, supporting joint investment opportunities and promoting the activities of the club.
Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev welcomed the initiative to create the Technovate Sabah Angels Club, stressing that its activities are of great importance for Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem.
“I consider it necessary to implement joint projects with Technovate Sabah in these areas. Our goal is to stimulate the formation of an investment culture in the country, to optimize the business environment, bring domestic projects to foreign markets, attract foreign investors to the country. We intend to work even more closely with potential partners in this direction,” Nabiyev said.
Technovate Sabah founder Farid Ismailzade made a presentation on the importance of creating and supporting venture studios and clubs. Talking about the activities of the club, Farid Ismayilzade spoke about the projects being implemented in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Central Asia, about financing startups that are in the initial phase of development and about international cooperation.
