On May 25, 2022, two children detained in the penitentiary of the Republic of Iraq and whose citizenship was identified as the Republic of Azerbaijan were repatriated to our country via the Baghdad-Istanbul-Baku route, SİA reports citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
Repatriation of these people was possible due to coordinated and phased measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Upon arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the repatriates underwent the necessary medical examination and were placed in the appropriate medical institution for reintegration and rehabilitation. They are planned to hand over to their relatives after completing the relevant procedures.
