Ukraine urged G7 to impose full oil and gas embargo against Russia

The countries of the Group of Seven (G7) should impose a full oil and gas embargo against Russia due to a special military operation, said Serhiy Marchenko, the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, SİA reports citing TASS.

"We need a complete oil and gas embargo," the minister said. According to him, if the G7 states continue to import Russian gas, Moscow "will use these funds for aggression against Ukraine."

Marchenko also thanked Japan for supporting the desire to abandon oil supplies from Russia and called on Tokyo to further tighten anti-Russian sanctions. In addition, he pointed out that Kyiv is counting on Japan to take advantage of the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia.
