On April 23, at about 18:00, a provocative group of the Armenian Armed Forces attempted to cross the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the part of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border passing through the Zangilan region.
According to the State Border Service, as a result of the measures taken, the provocation group was prevented from entering the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the saboteurs were forced to retreat.
The State Border Service assesses this incident as a provocation by the Armenian side against the establishment of delimitation commissions between the countries and the conduct of relevant work.
Representatives of the border department of the Federal Border Service of the Russian Federation in Armenia were informed about the provocation of the Armenian side.
The State Border Service states that if this happens again, we will take more serious measures.
