"Azerbaijan is interested in cooperating with China. Because China is a powerful country and its economic power is very large". This statement was given to SIA by Elkhan Shahinoglu, head of the Atlas Research Center.
According to him, the transportation of Chinese goods to the European market via Azerbaijan is important for us: “But we need to be a little more mindful in relations with China. Because whichever country China invests in, it owns various fields in those countries and seizes the enterprises it invests when there is no return.
For example, China is particularly interested in the Azerbaijani port of Alat and has done its best to privatize it. In my opinion, we made the right decision because we have a sufficient financial system and the port of Alat should be under our control. In this regard, although we are interested in expanding economic cooperation with China, we do not need loans from the Chinese government. Today, the cooperation of the Chinese state with Armenia raises questions in our country. Because the Chinese state is interested in them without any resources of Armenia. Armenia also receives assistance from China in many ways.
