Russia has no choice but to conduct military operations

Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko as part of "Cosmonautics Day". He made the remarks after meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in the Russian Far East, SIA reports quoting foreign media.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Moscow would resist attempts to isolate Russia and Belarus, and stressed the need to deepen integration between the two countries amid Western sanctions.

The Russian leader said that what happened in Ukraine was a tragedy, but Russia had no choice but to conduct a special military operation.

Stating that the Russian economy will adapt to the situation, Putin said he hoped that common sense would prevail in the sanctions.
