The 30th anniversary of the military police of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan is being celebrated. The Defense Ministry told SIA that the organization, which has passed a difficult and honorable path since its inception, was established in 1992 by the order of the Defense Minister. The military police is able to fulfill its tasks in any conditions, the main purpose of which is to protect the interests of the state and the people, to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The staff of the military police, whose morale is unshakable, has always shown determination in terms of moral and psychological training.
Military police patrols serve around the clock at stationary and mobile posts in the capital and other cities of the country, as well as in settlements where military garrisons are located. These posts monitor the movement of military transport on the routes in accordance with the submitted documents, regulate the routes if necessary, and ensure the security of military convoys. At the same time, the military police posts on duty provide control over the regime of discharge, discipline among personnel, transportation of military uniforms in accordance with the regulations, as well as compliance with the rules of the day by servicemen during service and combat duty.
In addition to patrolling checkpoints, the military police also monitor and protect important military facilities and moving military convoys.
The breed of dogs bred at the Cynology Center of the Azerbaijani Army, which operates under the auspices of the military police, is placed at the disposal of the troops. Dogs specially trained by specialists are used in mine detection, guard duty, as well as for other service purposes. The personnel of the military police also took an active part in the battles for the liberation of our lands during the Great Patriotic War and duly fulfilled the tasks set.
Currently, military police units are serving in our liberated settlements, participating in ensuring security and order in the deployment of troops. Soldiers serving in stationary and mobile posts of the military police inspect and register the equipment and personnel entering the area, direct the movement of military vehicles, as well as accompany them to ensure the safe movement of convoys to the depots of the Azerbaijani Army.
