Charles Michel says great progress achieved during meeting with Azerbaijani President, Armenian PM

Stability, security, and development in the South Caucasus are very important for the European Union, EU Council President Charles Michel told journalists upon the results of the trilateral meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels on April 6.

He assessed the meeting as very productive, adding that the work is underway to support all positive efforts and trust-building measures. According to him, great progress has been achieved, which means that all parties decided to launch a concrete process of peace talks, prepare a possible peace agreement and resolve all necessary elements for this agreement.

He also said the sides agreed on a workgroup, the joint commission on delimitation, and voiced confidence about close communication and coordination between the parties to see the progress that can be achieved in the weeks ahead.
