Yashar Aliyev: Armenia did not provide accurate information about hundreds of thousands of mines

"Hundreds of Azerbaijani civilians have been killed or wounded by anti-personnel mines since the end of hostilities. Armenia did not provide accurate information about the hundreds of thousands of mines planted in Azerbaijan, thus trying to prevent the return of IDPs," Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the UN Yashar Aliyev said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on "War in Cities: Protection of Civilians in Urban Settings".

He recalled that in the autumn of 2020, the conflict was resolved as a result of a 44-day war: "Azerbaijan pays special attention to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the liberated territories, the safe return of IDPs, and the post-conflict world order.

Aliyev stressed that those who ordered military strikes and attacks on Azerbaijani cities, towns, and villages during the conflict are still unpunished: "On the contrary, many of them are famous in Armenia as national heroes and are promoted to higher political and military positions."
