"Armenia is the only European country where three opposition MPs were illegally arrested without the consent of the National Assembly. And the US Ambassador, the ambassadors of the EU countries remain resolutely silent," a member of the Armenia parliamentary faction Aram Vardevanyan wrote on Facebook, having posted a video in which nine years ago the US Ambassador spoke about the criminal prosecution of opposition MP Vartan Oskanian, SİA informs, citing Armenian media.
"Nine years ago, the US Ambassador to Armenia spoke about the criminal prosecution at that moment of the opposition MP Vardan Oskanian, giving specific definitions. The Ambassador was not embarrassed by the wording 'he internal affair of the country.'
"I want to remind that Armenia is the only European country where three opposition deputies were illegally arrested, even without the consent of the National Assembly. And the US ambassador, the ambassadors of the EU countries remain resolutely silent," Vardevanyan says.
