World Economic Forum kicks off in Davos

The 50th World Economic Forum under the theme “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World” will start today in Davos, Switzerland, SIA reports.

The forum will bring together more than 3,000 political figures, academicians, businessmen and representatives of the non-governmental organizations from 117 countries, including over 50 heads of state and government. The forum will feature more than 400 open and close meetings.

US President Donald Trump, Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez, President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and other leaders will attend this year’s Forum. Heads of countries and governments of Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, Poland, Pakistan, Iraq, Singapore, Ecuador, Colombia, Jordan and others are also expected to participate in the Forum.

The forum will also bring together the mega rich group of 119 guests worth $500BN.
