Israeli political technologist: Azerbaijan's improved electoral system is an example for the whole region
“Serious reforms are being carried out in Azerbaijan by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. As a legislative body, it is natural for the parliament to try to keep up with these reforms. Structural and staff changes, as well as, the rejuvenation policy in central and local executive bodies are always welcomed by the people”, Israeli political technologist Yuri Bocharov told secki-2020.az.
According to him, the analysis of appeals received from the candidates indicates that there is a democratic electoral environment in the country. “The sheer number of candidates struggling for a parliamentary seat reflects transparent electoral environment and the parliament's reputation. It also means that people believe in the rule of law and the representation of the worthy candidates in the country's legislative body”, the political technologist said.
He noted that having a well-developed electoral system in Azerbaijan, as well as the peoples’ keenness to participate in the elections is an example not only for the country, but also for the whole region. Improved electoral system, online distribution of voter lists, installation of video cameras at polling stations is an indicator of transparency.
