'YPG/PKK’s freeing Daesh members for money suits them' Peace Spring

On some reports about release of Daesh prisoners by YPG/PKK terrorists for money, Turkish foreign minister said on Monday it is something that can be expected from a terror group, TRT World reports.

Mevlut Cavusoglu’s remarks came at a joint press conference with his Bissau-Guinean counterpart Suzi Carla Barbosa.

"There are reports that the YPG/PKK terrorists were releasing the imprisoned Daesh members for money. You can expect this from a terror group," Cavusoglu added.

Turkey and the US shared information and exchanged opinion before the operation to kill Daesh leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi started, he added.

On Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring which started on Oct. 9, Cavusoglu said pausing the operation "does not mean that Turkey will not do anything else about the remaining terrorists".

Local council set up in Tal Abyad

A local council was established on Sunday in Syria's northern town of Tal Abyad, which Turkey recently cleared of YPG/PKK terrorists with its Operation Peace Spring.

Members of the local council were selected as daily life in the town returns to normalcy.

Abdurrahman Mustafa, who was also elected head of Syria's interim government, said the 23-member council represents all ethnic and religious groups in the area.

"We will make Tal Abyad an example and pilot city," he said.

"Western countries would always say there was stability east of the Euphrates [River], which was dominated by terrorists. But we knew that their "stability" was coming from the power of guns," he added. "We will rebuild the city democratically, and show this to the regime and the whole world."
