Baku State University represents Azerbaijan at International Astronautical Congress in Sydney
A delegation from Baku State University (BDU) is making its mark at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2025) in Sydney, Australia, an event that draws leading figures from the global space industry and academic community, SİA reports.
The congress, which runs through early October, serves as a platform to showcase research, explore collaborations, and discuss the latest innovations in space technology.
The Azerbaijani national scientific team includes BDU students and doctoral researchers such as Bakhtiyar Novruzov from the SABAH Computer Science program, Nuray Safarli in Mathematics Teaching, and chemistry doctoral candidate Qamze Yahyayeva. Together, they are presenting the university’s work and representing Azerbaijan’s growing presence in space research on an international stage.
Under the theme “Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth,” the congress examines how space technologies contribute to sustainability on Earth. BDU participants, including Fidan Sardarova, Aisha Khalilli, and Iskandar Mammadov, are delivering presentations on big data applications in space research, astronaut protection from cosmic radiation, and creative approaches to integrating chemistry education with space science for younger students.
Their involvement highlights BDU’s commitment to advancing Azerbaijan’s role in global space exploration while providing emerging scientists with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge research and international expertise.
