Turkmenistan, China to co-whip up skilled workforce for oil industry

Turkmenistan and China are enhancing collaboration in the training of specialists for the oil industry, SİA reports via China's official sources.

According to information, the International University of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan and four Chinese organizations signed a memorandum on the establishment of the Lu Ban Workshop in Turkmenistan. The framework of agreements reached at the first Central Asia-China summit guided this step.

The initiator of the project on the Chinese side was Xi'an Petroleum University. Hebei Petroleum Vocational Technical University, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and China Association for International Education Exchange are also involved in the project.

The aim of setting up the Lu Ban Workshop is to whip both scholars and hands-on folks into shape in the realms of geology, information technology, and other related fields, while also fostering the exchange of teachers, students, and scientific know-how.

The Executive Director of the Central Asia-China Cooperation Mechanism Secretariat Wu Yingqin emphasized that the project aims to address the demand for qualified personnel within local enterprises, enhance graduate employment opportunities, and foster a new avenue of collaboration between the two countries.

In 2022, Tajikistan opened the first Lu Ban Workshop in Central Asia.
