Turkiye's Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the country will launch the Zangazur Corridor Project this year, aimed at reducing transportation time between Europe and Asia.
The project will connect the cities of Beijing and London, with cargo being transported through the corridor in 25 days, SIA reports.
According to Uraloğlu, the project will involve the development of a 14,000-kilometer railway network within Turkiye, with 2,251 kilometers of high-speed rail tracks connecting the country to international corridors. The minister emphasized that the corridor will be developed in stages, with the first stage connecting Turkiye to the Caucasus region and then extending to Europe.
Uraloğlu noted that the Zangazur Corridor is an important alternative to existing transportation routes, particularly in times of crisis. He emphasized that the corridor will be designed to reduce transportation times and costs, making it more attractive to businesses and traders.
