Azerbaijani citizens to be able to visit liberated Lachin in their cars

The citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be able to visit the liberated Lachin city with their car, this was reflected in the joint information of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, SİA reports.

According to the information, the directions of the visits of the Azerbaijani citizens to the territories freed from the occupation are expanding as a part of the “Great Return” program.

From April 27, 2024, the citizens will be able to visit Lachin city along with the trip to Shusha city and Sugovushan settlement by their private passenger cars. From April 26 the citizens can obtain permission for their trip by using the www.yolumuzqarabaga.az portal. The validity period for formalized permits is 2 days. A trip to Lachin city will be possible on the Jabrayil - Zangilan - Gubadli - Lachin route, entering from the Alkhanli crossing point of Fuzuli district, passing through "Zafar Yolu" and Horadiz settlement.

Private passenger vehicles can accommodate a maximum of 9 people, including 1 driver, for travel. When referring to Private passenger vehicles, vehicles registered with the State Automobile Registration Plate of the Republic of Azerbaijan and compliant with Category B transportation are considered. Individuals driving Private passenger vehicles must familiarize themselves with the rules and safety information regarding travel through the "Our Road to Karabakh" portal. They should also inform travelers about this and, to ensure mine safety, not deviate from the route after entering the liberated territories from occupation and passing the relevant inspection, be attentive at checkpoints, and adhere to the rules throughout the travel route.

Before traveling, citizens can contact guesthouses and other accommodation points listed on the portal to make room reservations.
