In 2023, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad increased by 25.5% compared to the same period last year and reached 1,868,700 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who went to Russia, Georgia, and Türkiye increased by 1.5 times, 31.8%, and 24.3%, respectively, and to Iran decreased by 27.7%.
Some 43.6% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 21.5% - the Russian Federation, 9% - Georgia, 7.6% - Iran, and 18.3% - other countries. 64.9% of those were men, and 35.1% were women.
Among the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries, 67.5% used air transport, 30% used railways and cars, and 2.5% used sea transport.
