Armenia's Pashinyan says he respects Anna Akopyan’s decision, offers apology -UPDATED

“I respect Anna’s decision," said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his social media account, SİA reports.

“For the past 30 years, she has stood by my side during all the difficult days of my life, has been my support and backbone. I am not sure that I have been the same for her. Perhaps I have caused her more sorrow, and for that I apologize,” he said.

Anna Akopyan, the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has announced that she has separated from Pashinyan and left the government residence, SİA reports, citing Sputnik Armenia.

She said that the announcement of the dissolution of her civil marriage with Pashinyan does not mean that they have entered into an official marriage.

According to Akopyan, she will live in a rented apartment from now on, as the property she purchased is still under construction.

Regarding living expenses, she said that 5 million drams remain in her account.

She noted that she intends to continue her work with the “My Step” Foundation. However, she did not rule out the possibility of being held criminally liable for this activity.
