Cyberattacks on Azerbaijani state bodies rise by 15%

The Special Communication and Information Security State Service of Azerbaijan identified 290 cyberattacks (indicators of compromise -IOCs) against state bodies in the country during the first three months of 2025, marking a 15% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the state service

Some 98 cyber threats were identified and blocked based on internal investigation, and 192 based on investigation of incidents announced by government agencies.

In March alone, 28 cyberattacks were identified, which is 58% less compared to a year ago.

Over the course of three months, 136.36 million malicious links were blocked on the AzStateNet network, nearly 2.108 million malicious electronic documents were blocked through the central antivirus system installed on end users, while 40,056 malicious electronic documents were blocked through the Sandbox protection system.
