The number of 15-24-year-olds in Germany has fallen to its lowest level since 1950.

According to the information provided by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), 8.3 million people are between the ages of 15 and 24, which make up 10 percent of the total population, SIA cites foreign media.

In Germany, the population reached its highest level of 83.2 million. However, the number of young people between the ages of 15 and 24 has fallen to the lowest level since 1950, both in terms of number and proportion.

The demographic structure differs between states: 11 percent of the population in Bremen is between the ages of 15 and 24, this ratio is 8 percent in Brandenburg in the east of the country, and 8.3 percent in Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
