Britain to buy $200 million worth of underwater drones

The UK Ministry of Defense has decided to purchase underwater drones worth 150 million pounds (about 200 million dollars) to detect and neutralize mines, SİA reports, citing The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

According to the information, the new generation of marine drones can be used in mine clearance operations in the Black Sea, as well as in the protection of vital underwater infrastructure such as cables and pipelines.

In accordance with the contract, it is planned to purchase 24 underwater drones at the initial stage. The technical characteristics of the devices are not disclosed.
